the beginning of the end
i guess i have had forgotten about this blog much due to the busyness of life.
and of cause, i did survive the thailand training!
today i'm a 3rd sergeant in the SAF
leading the 6 men under me
hope they all doing just fine with me
and recently (28nov09-13dec09) i went taiwan training with them
i really enjoyed the training so much
all thanks to their motivation within themselves
and if you think you are too little to contribute
then you are wrong
every single of you all are important
continue to keep the spirit up
i'm sure the rest of your army life will be exciting!
i have so much to say but i guess...
the year is gonna come to an end
an ending to a brand new beginning
i'm gonna start a new blog soon
this blog is best describe how i transit from...
a designer to a soldier
my designer life, the struggles, the ups and downs in life

Divine meeting
recently i met this special friend
it's really interesting
we added each other in friendster and msn
and.. that was 4 years ago, i guess
but, we never chat at all
til recently, he started a conversation
and this sparks off the friendship
i really thanks God for this friendship
he turned out to be from my church too

Dubai developments - Civilisation in the making

Dubai Towers represent the centrepiece of 'The Lagoons' development. The towers and the master planned development were designed by TVS. The four towers, ranging from 54 to 97 floors, are clustered to form a choreographed sculpture, representing the movement of candlelight.
Zaha Hadid has designed the Performing Arts Centre, which will present the finest in music, theatre and dance, on onSaadiyatIsland, which Abu Dhabi's ruler, Sheikh KhalifaBin ZayedAl Nahyan, has decided to make one of the world's top cultural destinations and a "beacon for cultural experience and exchange."
Infinity Tower, designed by Skidmore Owings and Merrill (SOM), will stand 80 stories high at 330 meters and will be the world’s tallest tower to feature a 90 degree twist. Infinity Tower will house luxury residential apartments, pools, a state of the art gymnasium, a nursery, conference room facilities, tennis courts and a luxury spa. The innovative design affords apartments on all sides staggering views. Open-space design has been implemented to ensure a minimum of pillars and floor to ceiling windows providing a sense of space and light. A reinforced concrete column will rotate with the twisting shape to create a helix. In addition each floor will accommodate a 1.2 degree twist to achieve the full unique 90 degree spiral.
Arabian Blade. A mixed use tower by architect, Claudio Catalano who says "The structure is devised as a vertical summation of several different buildings like a plant"furbished and intermingled with public and landscaped spaces. A Father's Love
A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?' The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'. They went on to complete the marathon together. Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together. One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together.' To which, his father said 'Yes' to. For those who didn't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island. Father and son went on to complete the race together.

empty entry
having a good rest for myself the past weeks. it's been awhile since i last rested. i no longer remember to take breaks ever since i start my design life in temasek polytechnic. eventually my health went deep down. climbing a flight of stair since so far. currently i'm blogging, but i don't feel like blogging now. suddenly there was a rush of uncertainty. loads of things wandering in my mind. for a moment everything stood still and silent flooded my room. a voice lingers in my mind, "hello, are you there?" who is this man? i don't know.

from punggol interchange to my house was a 1min bus ride
that journey i started to see what is life
of course i'm mentioning the morning life
the dawn broke over the sky
birds are chirping
people jogging
students waiting for bus
mum helping her daughter carry her school's bag
the smell of the morning fresh air
this scene reminded me when i'm in secondary school
the feeling of an early morning make me so happy

Sheriff: Woman Sat on Toilet for 2 Years

March 12th, 2008 WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Authorities are considering charges in the bizarre case of a woman who sat on her boyfriend's toilet for two years _ so long that her body was stuck to the seat by the time the boyfriend finally called police.
Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple said it appeared the 35-year-old Ness City woman's skin had grown around the seat. She initially refused emergency medical services but was finally convinced by responders and her boyfriend that she needed to be checked out at a hospital.
"We pried the toilet seat off with a pry bar and the seat went with her to the hospital," Whipple said. "The hospital removed it.
"Whipple said investigators planned to present their report Wednesday to the county attorney, who will determine whether any charges should be filed against the woman's 36-year-old boyfriend.
"She was not glued. She was not tied. She was just physically stuck by her body," Whipple said. "It is hard to imagine. ... I still have a hard time imagining it myself.
"He told investigators he brought his girlfriend food and water, and asked her every day to come out of the bathroom.
"And her reply would be, `Maybe tomorrow,'" Whipple said. "According to him, she did not want to leave the bathroom.
"The boyfriend called police on Feb. 27 to report that "there was something wrong with his girlfriend," Whipple said, adding that he never explained why it took him two years to call.
Police found the clothed woman sitting on the toilet, her sweat pants down to her mid-thigh. She was "somewhat disoriented," and her legs looked like they had atrophied, Whipple said.
"She said that she didn't need any help, that she was OK and did not want to leave," he said.
She was reported in fair condition at a hospital in Wichita, about 150 miles southeast of Ness City. Whipple said she has refused to cooperate with medical providers or law enforcement investigators.
Authorities said they did not know if she was mentally or physically disabled.
Police have declined to release the couple's names, but the house where authorities say the incident happened is listed in public records as the residence of Kory McFarren. No one answered his home phone number.
The case has been the buzz of Ness City, said James Ellis, a neighbor.
"I don't think anybody can make any sense out of it," he said.
Ellis said he had known the woman since she was a child but that he had not seen her for at least six years.
He said she had a tough childhood after her mother died at a young age and apparently was usually kept inside the house as she grew up. At one time the woman worked for a long-term care facility, he said, but he did not know what kind of work she did there.
"It really doesn't surprise me," Ellis said. "What surprises me is somebody wasn't called in a bit earlier."

as a child, i always been dreaming
as i grow up, somehow i 'forget' to dream
or i can say, i'm too busy to dream
"there's no time" "for what?" that's the common reply.
of cause i'm not talking about the dreams you had when you are sleeping
we always need to come back to a place where we can dream

you are the driver of your life
not the passenger
everyone is a leader
set aside a moment everyday to dream

and move towards the dream

i didn't sleep for 39hours so far

life is so unpredictable
S'pore comedian 'MC King' collapses and dies
LOCAL celebrity Jimmy Nah, more popularly known as MC King, has died after he experienced breathing difficulties while at home earlier on Friday.
He was 40.
His friends told MediaCorp Radio that he died at about 1 pm at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
A MediaCorp report said it is not known if the well-known actor had suffered from any health problems. But in his last entry he posted on his blog on New Year's Eve, Mr Nah had wished for good health in the coming year.
Local director Jack Neo, who had worked with Mr Nah on several productions, said he was shocked when told of his sudden death.
"All along, he's very, very healthy. So, I don't know why. I seriously don't know why," Mr Neo was quoted as saying.
Mr Nah had acted in a couple of local movies, including Neo's "Just Follow Law", as well as a number of local drama serials.

on the train there, jean got her theme song "internal joke"
walk among the crowdest part of sg in that day

exercise is not equal me

i have not been exercising even since i enter polytechnic
with work load that is heavier than an elephant
exercise is a no no NO-TIME for me
hence this "sort-of" holiday i did some exercising
went school to play badminton!

i went jogging @ the stadium
2 rounds run 1 round slow jog
slow jog = walking speed
after which went design canteen for makan session
went to my studio to chill-out and relax
it was really a day to sweat out my stress
and fill in with relaxation
and thank God for this opportunities =D

chao kuay tiao, hokkien mee, satays, chicken wings, carrot cakes, sugar canes
one word 2 describe "SHIOK"

today went school for open house vid shooting
was fun and FUNNY
did a lot of video tricks

and i'm off to vivo city @ 12

genesis 1:5 the light Day, darkness Night
genesis 1:5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day
this few days been in darkness for quite some time, and thats the reason why i never turn out in school. doing a lot of self thinking to myself and of cause growing my white hair once again. break down upon break down, crying out to Lord at my house below carpark, its really a good place for me. the 4th storey of the carpark, quiet and silence. some spirit haunt me with extremely weird dreams and nightmare. and the "pig spirit" is still there. get out of my i cried out in vain. so that was my darkness.
indeed, light shines the brightest in the dark :)

and we will all graduate together =D
went to shop for amos bday gift - a tee, with weilie and hafiz
sorry guys, can't play soccer with you all
and....
drink free starbucks coffee with any amount donation to salvation army
donation = free starbucks logo sticker = any free regular drinks
and i chose ice blended caramel frap.

took a train to my site - one fullerton
measuring tape, marker, sketch book, floorplans
site measurement
spend some quality time with my site
establish closer relationship with it
understanding the site make me work better
and . . .
i got a deep cut on my finger
bled so much
a very big thanks to measuring tape
thank God it stop in quite a fast speed
interesting cut
went to customer service counter
request the building plans/dwgs
and . . .
i met wei fen!
wow, didn't know she worked in one fullerton
that was a lovely coincidence
the sky begin drizzle some water droplets
capture a few pictures

and its was perfect
and it was my turn

be a dream builder
in my life, i come across a lot people who each has a dream in their life
but many told me it hard to realise them
some trying hard to live to their dream
unfortunately, many give up half way
but let me tell you, don't give up people
it may be hard, but endure
those who endure to the last, shall be save
some may told me, i tried so hard, yet there's no result
"im tired", "im just so little", im just a young boy/girl, what can i do?"
no one is too young to do great things
believe in yourself, the power of believe will take you into great heights
to turn dreams into reality
got to do with our mind
change the way you think
some may come across people who despite their dreams
they would said, "c'mon, face the reality!"
some may said, "stop dreaming, it just too big for you"
friends, don't be limited by them
you set your own boundaries
you are the driver of your life
you take control =)
dare to dream, dare to dream big, let no one stop you from dreaming
dream killers are always out there
be strong in your thinking, in your mindset, in your spirit
to be honest, i recently had a big discourage about my own dream
i find myself so weak in school work, i can't do well, just can't present
nothing seems to go in the right way
brain blockage, laziness, no motivation, everythings seems to be against me
fallen apart
and i doubt about my own dream
will i realise my dream one day
for a moment, i nearly gave up
"it's the end, face the reality yuze"
its been a struggle this week and many things just don't work
i ask God, "help me, are you there?"
no reply
no reply
just no reply
today service was great

And rivers in the desert
just wanna encourage that, continue to dream

was led to watch this show which is like so girl
its a show after a toy lor -______-
wonderful show
4 different girls with different passion. soccer lover, chemistry and maths lover, cheer leading and a stage fright girl. come together in a high school, they are the super best friends in school, and the student president wanted to tear them apart. despite creating problems and situation, the 4 girls stay strong together as a team. against all odds!
was totally blew off by the power of friendship
and i love jade (Janel Parrish) she was a fashion designer in the show
inspired
thanks to mavis and weilie, they make my day!
and most of all, i thank God =D

shoot and you will be shoot
yesterday was a great day where our fellow designers played a shooting game. they put up a great fight but it was definately not friendly. su han was a lovely but highly aggressive player, every sentence i spoke, she got something for me. thank God for her. she motivates me a lot.
was being encourage by some players of this game. si min and Mr 'H'ock. 'H' was a guy who has great impossible dreams he wants to fulfill. i give credits to his attitude, but poor him always got lovely fights with our very own mervin.
this few days was very un-smooth sailing for me. neither i meet waves nor storms, but instead, i met tsunami. totally dry in ideas despite the great amount of water from the tsunami.
an interesting crucifixion was made in design school and people do pay some respect to 'it'

potential site visit
after much walking on google earth, i'hv decided to walk on some real land. of cos by visiting it.
choosing a site for my project was a crucial stage. i got to work on the site for 4 solid months. this is mad!
one of the potential site was a old run-down building opposite singapore casket. beautiful structure and architecture identity, perfectly coated with thick dust particles, spider-made webs and a cone? yeah a cone. enjoy the pictures below.

genesis 1:3 there was light
so in the iad-bible, genesis 1:3 god said, 'there is idea!' and there was idea.
went to the most desirable floor in the tp library, the mystical 7th floor. all by myself. i was walking through the book shelves and something caught my eyes.
parallel practices in fashion and architecture
and.. fashion + architecture shared a common arguement = DEconstructivism
there goes the my idea! got to explore more this coming weekend.
thinking back yesterday was the darkest moment of my fyp 'so far' and today, i was back on track, i guess. hopefully my train will reach my desired destination.

genesis 1:2 realising my visions
a frustration of uncovering my issues
here goes, in the iad-bible, genesis 1:2 Fyp was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep.
indeed, today my lecturer asked what are we doing on, i waited very long and raise up my hand saying "this is mad" (in soft tone) and "IM DOING CHURCH" there goes, unleashing my dreams of building a house for God. everything i do, i do it not by by own strength but by the spirit. i don't know how am i going to do that, merely obeying what God wants me to do in this event of my life. i trust Him.
circumstances followed by, and i'm stuck, i can't find me issue why i do that. WHY? HOW? WHO? thats goes my all the problems spinning around my head like never before. day 2 of fyp, feeling loose, i'm hanging in mid air currently. su han told me, you need to turn this idea into a concrete idea, true enough, now i just have a muddy idea, it's soft and easily wash away. great work yu ze
i know this problems are temporary, it belong to the natural realm. so here i am, not empty-handed but empty mind-ed. going to walk in the realm of spirit. this time, its gonna be hard i know, there's restriction in this project, i can't do something there's far-fetch. it got to be 'near-fetch' or whatever it call. i will do it this time.
as i begin to think, and questioning myself why wHy WHY? answers/idea flow out, i like what mr george said years ago, 'idea flows like diaheorra.'
thanks to the help of xinni, she asked me some critical questions that keep me thinking. she said, 'what is your target audience.' and this sparks of a crazy idea in me. tomorrow i shall try realising this vision out.
i believe we should not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. for the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

genesis 1:1 of my visions
an inspiration sketch, totally don't know what i'm doing
definately a perfect day to start my fyp (final year project), as it was a raining day! river of living water ? i doubted in my heart. su han was my new female lecturer, was once an ex-student of tds (temasek design school). ok, got to work hand in hand with her for 4 beautiful months. that was great, praise the Lord.
hence, in the book of iad-bible, genesis 1:1 God created fyp for iad students.
voosh, and i was in tp library, as usual the most favourable level 7 was in our midst once again. syafiq and i were discussing about world issues on "sustainable designs" sia (singapore institute of architects) was always talking on this common topic which really stir our butts off the chair, an in some instances, off the roof.
sustainable = going green and designs 'things' that can prolong or last. i thinks its totally going no where. as architecture, products is sustained, there's no more room to build or construct newer and more futuristic building. this will in turns lead to a process call architecture froze. nothing new, because everything is sustain, we will see the same old architecture that is sustain, say 50years ago. this is mad. if we think on the macro level and long term viewpoint, this can be a hazard to architecture history.
i have a vision of seeing rapid architecture growth if we move out of our comfort zone. sustainable design is a easy way out. i guess. i believe we can design something that is far off our imagination. don't underestimate the power of human mind.
because, for with God, all things are possible.
